Health Care. I want some.

April 27, 2010

Khalil, 5, loves the trampoline.

So, is doing a series of interviews across the land to see how people feel about the health care bill. I was asked to shoot the Cooper family, a nice family of five in suburban OKC. Two of their three kids are autistic, the middle boy Khalil, 5, is non-verbal, though very loving. Jackson, 7, is high-functioning and the baby Simone is neuro-typical. This was my favorite shot of the family, but MSNBC went with a more traditional family shot, which was cool. They were all super nice, the boys were very interested in my gear and Simone stared at me like I was a problem that needed to be fixed. She did loosen up when the whole family was rolling around on the trampoline which produced lots of squeals. The mom, Christine, summed up her take on the health care bill succinctly. “I just want some options.” Me, too.

Apparently they don't do this much.
