Tornado alley

June 6, 2011

Tornadoes hit again in May, as is usual for this time of year in Oklahoma. One notable exception seems to be the severity of the tornadoes. After damage was surveyed, the tornado that tracked 75 miles and ran through several small communities in Oklahoma including Piedmont, was rated an EF5, the most severe rating. I went through El Reno and ended up in Piedmont.

There was one hopeful scene I came across in Piedmont. A woman whose house was completely destroyed found in the rubble her son’s high school class ring. Her son had been killed two years earlier in a car wreck.
