Biomedical meets aviation

July 30, 2011

Worked on a story for The Chronicle of Higher Education that looked at the confluence of ‘basic’ and ‘applied’ research at universities. I went to Wichita State University and their great program where aviation research is contributing to biomedical development and back again. Very cool stuff, many large words.

Dr. Tomblin in the crash test room. That halogen array is way hot.

Fancy.

That is a microwave. A walk-in microwave.

Dr. Wooley. He has many excellent power tools.
